The First CDO Theatrical Runway

So it was dubbed by Mr. Ryan Carbon during the Killerbee guesting last November 10th, 2011 as Cagayan de Oro's first Theatrical runway. Of course it meant "Carmine and Lyca" Fashion Party and all that promise of talk definitely happened at PULSE Live Music Venue last November 12, 2011. This is all thanks to the efforts of the models, the production team, artists, photographers and the sponsors.

The first part of the Fashion Party kicked off the with Ororama series of themed Collections where the models featured three moods; formal, glamrock & rockstar, and the B/W apparels. Ororama brand purchases dressed the Hollywood FX male and female models from top to toe with headgear, hats and caps, glasses, down to arm bands, bracelets, and finally different shoes for every set of mood. Before the party moved on but after the models took their first bow, the HollywoodFX team roused the crowd with the "Breaking Dawn" giveaway where contestants brightened the runway with their rendition of either vampires or werewolves. Up to the challenge, the vampires dressed enough black and mystery to show off on the stage and the werewolves didn't hesitate to show those fur and chests for the crowd to adjudge them worthy of the premiere tickets to the last "Twilight" installment. One lucky werewolf and two fashion-worthy vampires took home the tickets.

PULSE Live Music Venue filled the gap by entertaining the crowd with live music from their in-house band until the next part. Gracing the dance floor in this intermission is fashion guru and fashionista Dr. Sam Tan who was joined by an equally beautiful crowd, of which Dandy Mar Diaz Roa, Cagayanon top MUA belonged to.

To close off the night was the "Carmine and Lyca" theatrical runway by Miss Match Rentals lingerie and FUSHU Shoes from Cielo Marquida Shop. By definition, the runway theme was not merely unique but true in its form, delivering what vampires and lycans could be when near human form (and fashionable at that). Topping it off is acting even more than typical modelling projection and to put a stamp to it being the first ever theatrical runway in Cagayan de Oro is the closing salvo where after the lights and music go off, a scream hits the ceiling (provided skillfully by Sab Enerio, a model) a tableau comes to view in a freeze frame as the lights fade back in. The crowd is given time to absorb and understand what the picture is about and they are quickly reminded of the bloody battles between vampires and werewolves, which not only the "Twilight" saga has come to celebrate.

The show was appreciated albeit took time to be grasped and accepted that something like it could happen. But it did and it will have more of that "fx" soon. This is all thanks to Atty. Alfred Gaccion of Pule Live Music Venue, the Marketing and Visual Merchandising Team of Ororama chain of stores, Sticky Media - Harvest, Carpenter's Cut, Cielo Marquida Shop, Global Icon, with the artistic assistance  of Mr. Eugene Sia, Joseph Sia, and Mari Malferarri Mabulay, together with Killerbee, Mellow Touch, Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, and the Provincial Capitol. Of course, not to be taken lightly are the own artistic efforts from the HollywoodFX Family from the Marketing D, to Christian Gesta and Jessica Jane Villegas on their lenses all night, and most especially to the models who made a little funshoot back in 2010 become more than a reality but a fulfillment.

HollywoodFX TV at 89.3 Killerbee

An opportunity to spread the word about HollywoodFX's advocacy and the first theatrical runway "Carmine and Lyca"  - this guesting was last November 10, 2011 at 10PM to 1AM of November 11, 2011.
Model Gel Baqui hosed this behind-the-scenes episode.

"Carmine & Lyca" Preparations

The tension and excitement are both rising as the "Carmine and Lyca" Fashion Party approaches fast. But it brings perks to the models and artists as the "Hollywood" effect hits them with all the attention they get.

Last November 10, 2011, representatives of HollywoodFX visited 89.3 Killerbee to guest in its Thursday Night Talkback or TNT. Ryan "Litolman Ryan" Carbon, radio manager broke the newbie HollywoodFX into the business with the invite where the cast got more chance to explain what "Carmine & Lyca" is about. The show went on from 10PM to 1AM of 11-11-11, it was a great way to greet a highly sensationalized date in the calendar. The candid 3-hr show opened the doors of opportunity for the group to the avid listeners of the station. Gel Baqui hosted the behind-the-scenes at the guesting joined by Miggy Bajuyo, Sab Enerio and the Executive Director to represent those who were back home listening.

On the afternoon of the following day, November 11, 2011, all 15 models for "Carmine & Lyca" together with the Exec D and Marketing D browsed Ororama Supercenter's new batch of apparels. The three sets of newly shipped in clothes will dress the models for the "Ororama" segment on November 12, 2011 - "The Modern Day Vampires and Werewolves". "The Ororama marketing team and visual merchandising team has been very accommodating with our needs and we are even more thankful for that." says Exec D, who is both nervous and ecstatic for the show after seeing the three styles people should be expecting apart from the "Miss Match Rentals Lingerie" and "FUSHU Shoes" Show.

Speaking of FUSHU shoes, the male models proceeded to the Cielo Marquida shop after the Ororama fitting. They not only personally met the proprietor Ryan Cielo Marquida himself but they had the chance to fit the pair of FUSHU shoes they will be wearing at the Fashion Party. The Executive Director took the opportunity to interview long-time friend and often pageant co-host Ryan Marquida for the Cielo Marquida segment while Nash Azucena, model, hosted the behind-the-scenes for the Ororama fitting.

So, one more sleep to go and HollywoodFX is off to the runway. Every artist, model, photographer and creative member simply cannot wait to see the first fruits of their labor of love.

Workshop 1 & HollywoodFX TV Test Shoot

Two of the important firsts for HollywoodFX happened last November 5, 2011 at the Capitol Grounds Kiosk thanks to the wonderful staff in the Provincial capitol. The employees in the capitol under Hon. Oscar Moreno thru the leadership of Mr. Memen Moreno erased the qualms that used to be created by the old typical government staff. Preparing for the venue proved to be less of a hassle when the Executive Director and Marketing Director presented the letter and intention. They needn't come back another day to be given the spot. With this accommodation, the group found a place to spend the first HollywoodFX workshop on "Makeup and Runway" both daily/basic and theatrical. The Theatrical aspect more importantly was tackled and taught because HollywoodFX wants to impress to the audience that it becomes different from other groups because it is theatrical. Some theatrical exercises applied included the "Tension" exercise, which is used pre-stage to fend tension and anxiety from actors. The Executive Director broke the group in by introducing the Dewey Color Psychological Test where the HollywoodFX family members got to know themselves and each other. The afternoon ended with a walk-off where the First 15 and the newbies showed their runway stuff for the "Carmine and Lyca" casting, judged by Photographer Jessie Villegas and Marketing D Jenefer Maagad.

"The HollywoodFX Family is growing bigger. There isn't a day that we don't open FB where there isn't anybody hopeful in their PMs to want to join us." This is the reason why the Executive Director has kept the roll open. "I came from down where people pushed me aside because I don't have what it takes so I understand where these kids are coming from. That's why it's hard to say no. But as the show goes on, rules must be followed and if they don't that's when we let those hopefuls go, it's a pretty much comprehensible system rather than having to say nothing at all or no in the first place."

By being bigger, HollywoodFX realized the dream of extending its realm by starting the online TV division, HollywoodFX TV. The test episode featuring the first workshop is hosted by Tricia "Summer" Ledesma, one of the newbie models. It was part of her test. True to its promise where models are seen as artists, HollywoodFX impressed to everyone that they all have the chance to host the online show. "Because a HollywoodFX model shouldn't just know how to shoot and strut, they should also know how to speak." Models are already lined up and listed for the coming episodes, especially on the series of Carmine and Lyca behind-the-scenes.

The group is more than thankful that the "Carmine and Lyca" and the people involved both in production and cast have helped open doors to friends in the business. The photographer duo from Gridframe Ernest Castro and JM Tagarda dropped by the venue to discuss some business opportunities. Later Ms. Mari Malferarri Mabulay originator and stylist of Blush joined the meeting not only to discuss business with the HollywoodfFX-Gridframe partnership but also offered her artistic styling for the "Carmine and Lyca" Fashion Party. Photography genius Mr. Eugen Sia of Eugene Sia Photography is an artistic addition to HollywoodFX's lineup of photographers with Jessica Jane Tesoro-Villegas of Capturing Smiles Photography, Christian Erfe Gesta and Joseph Sia.

Hollywood FX TV first Video

A brief ad to thank all the companies and people who help made Hollywood FX Group of Artist & Models launching hugely possible through their help. There is also a bit of information on the event itself. But for more information, find us on Facebook: Hollywood FX, A Product of Bam Javien's Imagination or follow us on twitter: iamHollywoodFX

"Carmine & Lyca" Official

After a meeting with Atty. Alfred Gaccion of PULSE Live Music Venue with some minor revisions on the poster and after sponsors confirming their support, "Carmine and Lyca" was just made official earlier today.

On the issue on what could have taken it this long, Exec D says "It's just that we wanted to catch up with the sponsors. We didn't want them to feel left out when  we do the prints." Another reason could be that "Carmine and Lyca" actually almost would not have happened. Early October Exoro Events was working hand in hand with Hollywood FX on this project. But Exoro Events had their professional deadlines, which seemed impossible in the events media. "We always had to wait on the sponsors confirmation and since we are asking for their help, we still have to wait no matter because the lifeblood of the event is drawn from these companies and people.", adds the Director. After Exoro Events pulled out from the project, Hollywood FX went on its own.

The Executive Director clarifies that the relationship between Exoro Events and Hollywood FX remain friendly. "What happened was not a pullout or a fight. There was just a mutual decision between the two companies to work on its separate ways since Exoro Events is currently working on the reformatting of the first forum "Business-to-Business Social Media Marketing" where the two companies worked together first apart from the "Clean Folio Shoot". There may come a merge in the near future where events may matter.

One of the reasons why the show had to go on was for the sake of the artists and models. "I didn't want to let them down. This was a launching show for the models, so much so a business launching for Hollywood FX itself." explains the Director and that's when she took in a Marketing Strategist who has proven herself effective.

Among the successful business relationships established with this event starts with PULSE Live Music Venue, who accommodated the group in the venue. Then Ororama Supercenter, which showed genuine High Fashion promise since the Minadanao Fashion Summit early August this year and the Miss Kagay-an 2011 Casual Competition late August. The supermarket-department store has been enthusiastic to establish the partnership firstly thru the Marketing Manager. Ryan Udasco Visual Merchandising Officer and Ororama's own fashion designer has assured his vision for which he will dress the models during the show. Cielo Marquida Shop, exclusive distributor of FUSHU shoes in Mindanao will be providing the footwear for the male models. Ryan Cielo Marquida, proprietor, being a model himself didn't hesitate owing to the fact that he too knows how it is to walk on the runway - which needs some comfy FUSHU shoes!

Sticky Media-Harvest by Mike and Marissa Turner as well as the husband and wife entrepreneur Sue and Mike Montalban have helped made the event possible. "They are the answers to our prayers," says Exec D when either sponsors showed no qualms in helping.

So with one week left and all the marketing side done, all that's left for Hollywood FX to do is iron out the clothes, straighten up the models and polish the runway walk for November 12, 2011 - The Hollyood FX Group of Artist and Models Launching show.

FEATURETTE: Miss Match Rentals by Hollywood FX

THE FIRST FEATURETTE
This will be the first of many featurettes that Hollywood FX will be doing not only for the sponsors who helped and will help make its events come true but of artists, happenings and people that Hollywood FX has an eye on.

This week is Hollywood FX's very own clothing line Miss Match Rentals, which will be dressing the models for the "Carmine & Lyca" Fashion Party on November 12, 2011 in PULSE Live Party Venue. It is only right that the first featurette spot be given to Miss Match Rentals because it has worked hand in hand with the group's artistic endeavors with support and without questions.

ITS ADVOCACY
Miss Match Rentals will not keep the secret of its origin. It is simply a household collection of pre-loved gowns, costumes and international ensemble. The Executive Director's mother has a keen eye for fashion herself and ever since the 'ukay-ukay' began as Goodwill hand-me-downs, she has already collected for herself and her children. Since then, her finds have become elaborate, extensive and international. She adds all these to the family's very own collection of tailored gowns and outfits as well as heirlooms from someone's wedding or debut. Soon, their closet has been piled up with sorts of designs, colors, and textures. The rental business hasn't gone full-scale. In fact, with the mother's fear of losing anymore of her precious collections as was her experience with lending to family and friends, she has shrugged the idea of pursuing the business. But seeing as the fabric will go nowhere else but to rot unused, she has no choice but to say yes to a strategic rental method.

THE NAME
Coming from the idea being pre-loved and that in the process of being loved from one hand to another, a matching piece may have been lost. So it is the label's job to look for another pre-loved material that can cover for and make up for what used to be there. That's the idea of being 'mismatched'. But then once paired, it won't be a 'mismatch' after all but a 'match' made possible by the 'Miss' who runs it.

THE TARGET MARKET
People from different walks of life who love to and need to wear costumes at any given time, party or personal purpose are welcome to rent. However, the clothes holds men off since the choices for menswear are not as variegated and ample as the women's choices are. But that's where the party is headed anyway so in the next couple of months, menswear can already be expected.

THE CHALLENGE
People may or may not immediately see Miss Match Rentals as it hopes to be but a business always has to start somewhere. Miss Match Rentals has been in it for a long time, however in a small, discrete kind of way where the originator, the mother doesn't have to worry about lost rentals. But then again maybe that is the real challenge. Keeping track of the rents so as not to loose them when people start to appreciate the label. Well, it won't be business without a challenge would it?

Here are some of Miss Match Rentals Formal Wear showcased during the N.Y.A.D Photoshoot - a comeback funshoot for the Executive Director in 2010.
